[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=2970915445 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=333333 tracklist=false artwork=small track=1865786869]
Australian scuzz-punks Gee Tee are back with a new EP and it’s everything you’d expect from this lo fi outfit. Maniacal, drooling, synth infused garage punk. Limited edition vinyls have sold out already but that doesn’t mean you can’t chuck a few quid in for the digital download because ya know, punx need monies for beers.
Sin Offering – Charnel House
[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=3113013395 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=7137dc tracklist=false artwork=small track=803171372]
Get ready to raise those devil horns, listening to Sin Offering’s latest EP, I’m immediately transported to the couch at Beavis and Butthead’s house where I’m watching them headbang to this. Sin Offering bring four glorious tracks of campy, metal to the table with Charnel House.
Cherry Cheeks – Cherry Radio
[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=2903799291 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=de270f tracklist=false artwork=small track=959842499]
More lo fi, synth punk because why not? It may not be complicated but this EP is six tracks of resplendent, buzzy joy. Each track is around 1.50, perfect for all of our reduced attention spans in this digital age. Plus all proceeds from Bandcamp donations go towards mutual aid.
The Murlocs – Calm Ya Farm
[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=770894609 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=2ebd35 tracklist=false artwork=small track=527828354]
The Murlocs are known for their energetic and eclectic blend of psychedelic, garage rock, and blues and “Calm Ya Farm” doesn’t disappoint. This album is raw and gritty, drawing influences from various genres and eras of rock music. The songs feature lots of catchy riffs, fuzzy guitars, driving rhythms, and a healthy dose of reverb. Lyrically, the band explores introspective themes with a touch of surrealism, displaying a poetic and sometimes cryptic style.
Sonya Marlene – Rainbow of Promise
[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=1718850129 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=f171a2 tracklist=false artwork=small track=1074560419]
Layered and cheerful EDM takes the form of the aptly named ‘Rainbow of Promise’, it’s hyperpop for the morally conscious. Sonya Marlene’s debut album isn’t a million miles away from pop like Kero Kero Bonito in that it’s optimistically geared towards upwards energy and good vibes only. Plenty of other artists go down the Y2K irony route with this type of stuff but there’s no aloof sarcasm hiding behind twinkles and gltiches here, you can tell Marlene is the real deal.
Sun Vessel – Toil and Trial
[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=1044486521 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=e99708 tracklist=false artwork=small track=3881120710]
Sun Vessel is a captivating and enigmatic folk artist. With moody melodies and evocative lyrics, SVs songs have the power to stir the soul and leave a lasting impression. The artist’s atmospheric sound weaves together earthy tones and emotive lyricism.
